Taking advantage of my location!

September is my favorite time of year. Where I live I am surrounded by a constant reminder that there is something out there greater than what my small brain can truly wrap my head around. Nothing brings more happiness to my heart than to jump on my bike and be surrounded by this beauty in less than 3 minutes. Literally I am the luckiest girl alive to have this mammoth playground in my backyard.  I will never stop taking this for granted.

Taking the boys on their first LONG hike!

Summer of 2012 I had been telling Chris how much I wanted to hike Timp. Well while I was at work, Chris found some time to RUN the Timp trail and came back to tell me how amazing it was. Yeah I made him take me the following weekend. Even better, Cayden and his friend Conner were playing video games at the time, telling me they were board. Well get in the truck, it's your lucky day boys we are going hiking.  16 miles later...... I was amazed at the endurance and dedication these two 14 year olds had. They didn't complained, they kept up and they almost seemed like they were enjoying themselves. 

I feel like this all the time...

I am starting to realize I have two arch enemies......

Meet the garage (man cave). This room is the place I can usually find the husband after work making all sorts of cool things out of beautiful wood. It's too cold for me to hang out in the man cave plus its dirty and most of the time conversations have to go on between the sounds of the cutting machines.... I do not like the garage. But even if the garage didn't exist.... there would always be...... "the greens"  

Meet the greens ( The playground). This is usually where I can find the husband when he is not at work, or not in the garage. I have slowly started to despise the game of golf.  I can all ready tell that golf season is around the corner and it makes me cringe inside. 

 I am at a loss as to why I feel so bugged. There is a good reason and to elaborate could be harmful. I will keep it simple. I have two enemies right now .... the garage and the greens. 

A Simple Day at the State Fair

 A simple day at the state fair with mom and Cayden was nothing short o enjoyable.
Somehow we found the stage where they were drawing names for the watermelon contest.
Cayden put his name in and sure enough he found himself on stage in front of 50+ people.
 It was a great day and enjoyable to just spend that time laughing and walking around the fair grounds. I am a lucky mom. I am a lucky daughter.













At the end of the contest Cayden's watermelon wiggled off of the table and fell to the ground. No he didn't win the contest. But he sure was happy about it. Beaming and happy that he was a mini rock star for a few minutes. He is always my mini rockstar!
